Morning service
On Mondays – Fridays, most routes in the capital area start driving around 06:30 – 07:00 in the morning.
The first trips of the day do not necessarily start at the first stop on the timetable.

Service during the evenings
About half of the routes stop driving around midnight and the other half stop driving earlier in the evening and / or do not have service on the weekends.
ATTENTION
In most cases, buses stop service on the final bus stops on their timetables. However, in some cases few routes complete their last trips in the middle of the line and this is specifically mentioned in the timetables.

Night buses on weekends
Five night routes will drive from the Reykjavík city center, one route runs in Hafnarfjörður with stop in Kópavavogur and the other four to various neighbourhoods in Reykjavík city; Breiðholt, Úlfarsárdalur, Norðlingaholt and Mosfellsbær with a stop in Grafarvogur.
- Night buses will drive from Reykjavík city center on Friday- and Saturday nights
- You can only use night buses on routes from the city center. Not towards the city center.
- Buses do not drive according to a traditional timetable. Strætó only publishes the departure time from the city center and buses drive to their destinations as quickly as possible.
- Customers that want to catch the night buses outside the city center are advised to follow the buses real time location in the Klapp app or on straeto.is.
