Strætó receives the recognition of Jafnvægisvogin

Strætó is among companies and public bodies that received the recognition of Jafnvægisvogin 2023. Sigurborg Þórarinsdóttir, director of HR and quality management at Strætó, accepted the award at the recognition ceremony of FKA (Association of Businesswomen in Iceland) and Jafnvægisvogin, October 12.

Sigurborg says it is a pleasure for Strætó to receive the recognition, but Jafnvægisvogin is intended to increase the gender balance in the top management of companies in Icelandic business, with the goal that by 2027 the ratio between the sexes will be at least 40/60 in the executive boards of companies in Iceland. „Strætó has always tried to make sure that the ratio between the sexes is as equal as possible, since it is not only in the interest of the workplace and customers, but the society as well. It is important to get everyone onboard when it comes to decision-making and we are proud of this recognition“.

Jafnvægisvogin is a project carried out in collaboration with Creditinfo, Deloitte, the Prime Minister’s Office, Pipar\TBWA, RÚV, Samtök fyrirtækja í sjávarútvegi (Fisheries Iceland) and Sjóvá.
