Malfunction at the payment processor February 19-28

During the period of February 19–28, there was a malfunction in Strætó’s payment processor, which resulted in some contactless payments not being processed. This meant that customers were not charged for all bus rides taken during this period when paying contactless.

Over the weekend, all transactions from this period were charged together in a single payment. For example, if a customer took four bus rides during this period, they may have been charged for 4 × single fares in one transaction.

The usual practice is that all contactless payments are processed together after midnight so that bus rides throughout the day can count towards the cap, if applicable.
