A new price list of Strætó will take effect on January 8th.
The increase is at average 11% for all fares. For example, a single fare ticket goes from 570 kr. to 630 kr. and a 30-day student card goes from 4.500 kr. to 5.200 kr. The price of Klapp plastic cards remains unchanged at 1.000 kr.
The decision regarding the price is made by the board of Strætó and was approved at the owner´s meeting held on October 16 last.
The operational status was taken into account when making the decision, but the cumulative effect of the Covid pandemic is still felt in the operation. The price increases are also intended to cover general cost price increases as well as higher labour costs and reduce the need for further cut down of the route network in the capital area.
The price changes apply to Strætó´s bus service in the capital area but there will be no changes in prices in the countryside. New prices will come into effect on January 8, 2024.
