Over the last few days Klapp, Strætó ticketing system has been a victim of DDoS cyber attacks.
DDoS attack means that a huge number of queries are directed at the system and web servers temporarily break down due to an overload. The latest attack was made today, Saturday at 13:50 and it lasted for about 90 minutes. While the attack was ongoing customers could not access the Klapp app or their web access on „My pages“. On board validation of fares was also disrupted.
The Norwegian company FARA AS which handles the software and hardware for the ticketing system says they will react and make sure these types of attacks don’t disrupt the system. Strætó and FARA AS apologize for the inconvenience this attack caused.
We draw attention to the fact that this DDoS attack has nothing in common with the cyber attack that Strætó suffered at the end of 2021 when the Strætó network was broken into and various data stolen.
