The following changes will be made to Strætó’s route system in January 2022:
Route 25: Gufunes – Spöngin
Route 25 becomes a new Strætó route from 2 January, 2022. The route will drive from the new neighborhood in Gufunes and to Spöngin.
The route has a pre-order service. That means, customers have to book their trips by calling Hreyfill taxi service through phone number +354 5885522 at least 30 minutes before scheduled departure according to the timetable.
East fjords become part of Strætó
As of Monday 3 January 2022, the operations of Strætisvagnar Austurlands will be transferred from Austurbrú to the Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration. Public transport in the East Fjords will therefore formally be part of Strætó’s route network in the countryside.
The routes will not change, but the they will get new route numbers and new timetables. To begin with, the price structure in the East Fjords will remain the same as it was under Austurbrú.
