Strætó´s passenger numbers continue to grow and for the second month in a row there was a record number of boardings since regular measurements began. In January 2023 there were more than 1.119.000 boardings within the Capital Area which is the highest number measured in January since regular measurements began. There were almost 7% more boardings in January this year than in January 2019 and almost 4% more than in January 2020, which was the previous January record.
Last December there were almost 980.000 boardings, which was also a December record since regular measurements began.
The number of Strætó´s passengers decreased during the Covid pandemic, but now passenger numbers are increasing again.
